We have fantastic food and drink produce

Tourism and hospitality staff from across the Causeway Coast and Glens destination have taken part in a World Host Food Ambassador Training programme.

Organised by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council in association with Tourism NI, the programme educates participants to become food ambassadors.

The course trainer Wendy Gallagher shared her knowledge and enthusiasm, and those taking part also enjoyed a range of delicious local food and drink samples.

She said: “I would like to thank everyone who took part in the training.

“The excellent array of home grown award winning produce combined with the superb input from local food producers was brilliant.

“I have every confidence that each of these World Host Food Ambassadors will continue to celebrate and share this wonderful foodie destination.”

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council’s Tourism Development Officer Zoe Bratton said: “This was the third training programme that we have ran for our local tourism and hospitality trade.

“The passion and enthusiasm from those who attended shows how dedicated they are to learning about selling our fantastic food and drink produce.”

The event was held in The Roe Park Resort in Limavady, and a delicious lunch was provided which showcased some local Northern Ireland produce such as Corndale Farm Chorizo, Oven Roast Rump of Mourne Lamb, Portavogie Loin of Cod and Fivemiletown goat’s cheese.
