Tripartite approach to UKCoC2013 marketing

THE tourist board, Derry City Council and the Culture Company are working hand-in-hand to develop an aligned marketing and communications plan for Londonderry UK City of Culture 2013.

Tourism Minister Arlene Foster stated: “Northern Ireland Tourist Board (NITB) is liaising closely with Derry City Council and the Culture Company to develop aligned marketing and communications plans going forward.”

She advised that the local Council is developing a One Marketing Plan for the city of which “the UK City of Culture is an important focus and opportunity for 2013.”

She said a number of television and radio advertisements have already been used to promote the year-long cultural jamboree.

“NITB’s Spring marketing campaign promoting short breaks in the Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland markets launched on Monday 28 January 2013 and the 30 second TV advert had a strong focus on Londonderry as UK City of Culture 2013.

“A bespoke Londonderry 10 second edit has aired from Monday 4 February 2013,” she stated.
