Police appeal for witnesses over cat cruelty claim

North Coast PSNI have confirmed they are investigating a report of cruelty to an animal in Portrush.

It follows an allegation that a man kicked a cat into the sea at the harbour on Sunday evening.

Police stated: “We have received information that there was an incident in Portrush Harbour yesterday (Sunday) involving cruelty to an animal. It is believed this happened between 1700-1800 hours.

Anyone with information is asked to call the non-emergency number 101.
