Plans lodged for greenway

ANOTHER piece of Londonderry’s foot and cycle jigsaw may progess in the near future after Derry City Council submitted an application to develop a three kilometre greenway from the Waterside to Strathfoyle.

The proposed greenway will run alongside the River Foyle, adjacent to the Londonderry to Coleraine railway line, extending past Gransha, Stradreagh, Oakgrove and Westlake and terminating at Lisahally.

Planners have received the application from Derry City Council for the “new 3.5metre wide greenway within a 20metre-25metre green corridor, including 2metre high mesh fence to riverside, 2.4metre high mesh fence to adjoining lands, street lighting, furniture and associated soft landscaping.”
