Foyle DUP MLA Gary Middleton has been selected to take part in a young leaders program through the US Consulate.

The International Visitor Leadership Program connects current and emerging foreign leaders with their American counterparts through short-term visits to the United States.

“I am honoured to have been selected to take part in this prestigious program later this month. Over the past number of years I have heard of the great experiences people have had on this program which many of my colleagues have taken part in,” he said.

“Past participants have included Former First Minister Peter Robinson MLA, Gregory Campbell MP MLA and DRD Minister Michelle McIlveen MLA, to name a few.

“I look forward to representing Londonderry and Northern Ireland on the visit and hope to develop new links and skills which I can put into use on behalf of my constituents.”
