Man shot in both legs in Londonderry

Detectives have appealed for information after a man was shot in the Glenowen area of Londonderry last night (Wednesday).

The 48-year-old was shot in both legs in a laneway off Glenowen Park.

The incident was reported to police shortly after 9pm on Wednesday.

The victim of the attack was taken from the scene to hospital and is currently being treated for his injuries.

This is the second shooting to have occurred in the city in two days.

On Monday evening a 23-year-old man was shot once in the leg inside a bookmakers at Central Drive in Creggan.

Detectives have issued an appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident at Glenowen or who has information about the shooting to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference number 1141 of the 29/3 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
