Man in his twenties killed and another in hospital after hitting bridge between Donemana and Park

A man in his twenties has died following a collision involving two vehicles between Donemana and Park early on Friday morning, July 22.

Police have closed the Longland Road at its junction with the Cumber Road following the accident and are asking motorists to avoid the area.

The man was killed after the silver Peugeot in which he was travelling struck a bridge at 7.20am.

Inspector Ray Wilson said another male who was also in the car was taken to hospital and is currently receiving treatment for injuries, which are not life-threatening.

The occupants of a blue Transit van also travelling on the road were not injured.

The road remains closed from the Cumber Road to the Ballyarton Road.
