Middleton to act asVice-Chair of health watchdog

DUP MLA Gary Middleton says he will ensure the Western Trust area is well represented in his new role as Vice-Chair of the Stormont Health watchdog.

“I am delighted to have been appointed Vice-Chair of the NI Assembly Health committee and to have the opportunity to build on the work of the committee during the previous mandate. I will ensure the Western Trust area is well represented and will work with colleagues across Northern Ireland on the many issues that face the Department for Health,” he said.

The composition of the various Committees was finalised today, Tuesday, May 31, ahead of meetings on Wednesday and Thursday.

Elsewhere, Linda Dillon and Caoimhe Archibald will be Chair and Vice-Chair of the Agriculture Committee; Colum Eastwood and Michelle Gildernew will be Chair and Vice-Chair of the Communities Committee; Conor Murphy and Steve Aiken will be Chair and Vice-Chair of the Economy Committee; Barry McElduff and Chris Lyttle will be Chair and Vice-Chair of the Education Committee; Mike Nesbitt and Danny Kennedy will be Chair and Vice-Chair of the Executive Office Committee; Emma Pengelly and Claire Hanna will be Chair and Vice-Chair of the Finance Committee; Paula Bradley will Chair the Health Committee; William Humphrey and William Irwin will be Chair and Vice-Chair of the Infrastructure Committee; and Alastair Ross and Raymond McCartney will be Chair and Vice-Chair of the Justice Committee.
