Londonderry Mayor Martin Reilly says he’ll travel to London on Wednesday and Thursday to attend elements of President Michael D. Higgins’ state visit to Britain.
The Mayor says he’ll use the opportunity to promote Londonderry Music City 2014.
He commented: “This visit is hugely important in many ways, in particular for the many Irish diaspora that are living all across Britain as well as politically and economically in strengthening our trade and tourism links with our nearest neighbour. Our city has unique links with London and I’m looking forward to getting the opportunity to promote Derry when attending the City of London dinner in London’s Guildhall on Wednesday night.
“As a guest of Mark Durkan MP, I will be a guest at Westminster on Thursday where I will promote Music City and attend a concert in the Royal Albert Hall celebrating the best of Irish music and culture.”
