Those who sent McGlone bullet bankrupt of principle: Durkan

LONDONDERRY MP Mark Durkan says those who sent a bullet and sympathy card to Mid Ulster MLA Patsy McGlone are “bankrupt of principle and barren of ideals.”

Mr Durkan strongly condemned those responsible for sending the letter intended for his party colleague.

Mr Durkan said: “This is a very serious development and must be strongly condemned.

“Those who are responsible for these vicious tactics - including the attack on the home of SDLP Councillor Claire Hanna at the weekend - must stop their activities immediately.

“Repeated attacks on our members will not hinder the SDLP - many of whom have endured violence and threats from so-called loyalists and republicans in the past.

“Such attacks on democratic representatives only show that the perpetrators are bankrupt of principle and barren of ideals.”
