Thieves cut fence to steal alloy wheels

THIEVES cut through wire fencing to break into a car showroom in the middle of Londonderry before making off with four alloy wheels from a new car.

Police in Londonderry are appealing for information following the break-in and theft from the commercial premises on the Strand Road over the weekend.

Sometime between 4pm on Saturday, September 29 and 9am on Monday October 1 the wire fencing at the rear of a vehicle showroom near the Riverside walkway was cut. Four alloy wheels were stolen from a new car parked on the forecourt and a window in the car was also smashed.

Police say the area is popular with walkers and are asking anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity or suspicious vehicles in the area to contact them at Strand Road station on 0845 600 8000 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
