Schools asked to submit country photos
LONDONDERRY schools and local young farmer club members are being urged to send in their rural photographs and win £250 for their organisation and £50 for themselves as part of new Housing Executive competition.
Michael Conway, Rural Housing Coordinator explained: “We are asking young people in rural schools and young farmer clubs to consider any rural issues which matter to them and to take a photograph which illustrates the issue.
“The photograph can either highlight a concern or celebrate the best of rural life. We will also ask for a short paragraph explaining the thinking and issue behind the photograph.
“This is a chance for young people in rural areas to express their views on rural life. All post-primary schools with a rural catchment area have been invited to take part.”
The competition closes on May 11 and successful entries will feature in the next edition of the Housing Executive’s ‘Rural Matters’ publications which is distributed to rural groups and representatives across Northern Ireland.
