PSNI hunt black Audi driver for burglary info
POLICE investigating a distraction burglary of an 80-year-old in the Sawel Place area of Dungiven on Friday, September 7 are appealing for information on a suspicious vehicle.
Police are appealing for information on a black coloured Audi A6 vehicle believed to have been in the Limavady area 12pm and 2pm and later in the Dungiven area around 3.30pm.
At around that time, a male purporting to be from the Housing Executive knocked on the door of the elderly lady. He showed her a photographic ID card but the lady is not sure if it was NIHE. He said he was there to check the house for damp and to test the pressure in the kitchen taps. The man entered the house but when he left, the 80yr-old lady discovered a cupboard had been forced and a sum of money was stolen.
Anyone who may have seen the vehicle or has any information is asked to contact Police at Limavady on 0845 600 8000.
