Newbuildings to Waterside path proposed

LONDONDERRY councillor Martin Reilly has welcomed the confirmation by Roads Service it is considering the possibility of a new foot and cycleway on the Woodside Road between Gobnascale and Newbuildings.

The Waterside Martin Reilly said: “I welcome Road Service’s commitment to examine the proposal for a footpath and cycleway from Gobnascale to New Buildings.

“Road Service has now confirmed to me that the preliminary assessment of this location has now been completed and the proposal for a footway/cycleway provision has met the criteria to progress for further more detailed appraisal.”

He said a number of constituents contacted him requesting a footpath along the route.

“I will continue to lobby Roads Service towards a positive conclusion on this matter,” he said.
