New photos of rugged NW

A NEW photographic exhibition at the Eden Place Art Centre showcases the ‘Wild and Rugged Places’ of Londonderry and beyond.

It’s compiled of pictures captured by members of the Foyle Hillwalking and Rambling Club on their walks.

The collection shows the familiar and unfamiliar and many places which are only accessible on foot.

It will be opened by the newly appointed President of Mountaineering Ireland, Ursula MacPherson today May 9 at 7.30pm and will continues until May 23.

Bernard Connolly, Chairman of the club said: “We get great enjoyment from walking in the hills and along the coast that we thought we would share our photographs and hopefully encourage more people to join us.

“We are both delighted and honoured that Ursula has agreed to open the exhibition. Anyone interested can come along on the opening night and talk to us or find more details on our website www.foylehillwalkingclub.co.uk.

“The club has a full programme of walks to suit different levels of fitness. All that is required to join is a good pair of boots and a willingness to give it a go!”
