Gold burglars strike again

BURGLARS have made off with gold jewellery following a break-in at a house in Ardanlee, Londonderry on February, September 14.

It follows a similar burglary in the same estate in July, in which a substantial amount of gold jewellery was taken.

Detectives are appealing for information following the latest break-in.

Sometime between 9am and 12pm midday, the house had been broken into, at the rear and some jewellery was stolen. A gold chain with a cross and a ladies gold ring with a blue stone were stolen.

Police are asking anyone who may be offered the items for sale in suspicious circumstances to report it immediately.

Police say a similar burglary was carried out on another house in Ardanlee on 20th July when a substantial quantity of gold jewellery was stolen.

Anyone who notices any suspicious activity in the area or has any information is advised to contact police at Strand Road station on 0845 600 8000 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
