Cracked pipe closes swimming pool

THE swimming pools at Templemore Sports Complex have been closed with immediate effect due to problems with a fractured pipe within the circulation system.

Contractors are on site to carry out the essential works with a view to have the works completed so the pool can reopen by the end of the week.

All other facilities within the sports centre, including the gym, fitness suite and sports halls, are operating as normal. Staff at Templemore are contacting groups affected by the closure.

Apologising for any inconvenience caused, a spokesperson for the Council’s Leisure Services said a further update would be provided and that every effort would be made to have the pools open to the public by the end of the week.
