Changes to local policing

The PSNI has made some changes to it’s community policing service.

Recognising an opportunity to provide a more cohesive policing service in Foyle and following consultation with key stakeholders, a number of changes have been agreed around the neighbourhood teams.

City Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team will assume added responsibility for the commercial area bounded by Spencer Road, Limavady Road, Ebrington Barracks, St Columb’s Park and the River Foyle. This will include Fort George, The Walled City, The Peace Bridge and Ebrington Barracks. City Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team will be the single point of contact for our partners ILEX, City Centre Initiative and Translink.

City West Neighbourhood Policing Team will gain the Bogside, Brandywell, Foyle Road and the Fountain as part of their areas of responsibility.

We believe these changes will be of benefit to the community and enhance our service provision right across the city.
