Attack on former Derry City footballer’s home condemned

LONDONDERRY MP Mark Durkan has strongly condemned those who vandalised the home of former Derry City footballer Willie Curran at the weekend.

A window was damaged in the incident at the pensioner’s home on Beechwood Avenue.

Mr Durkan said: “Willie Curran is well-respected and well-loved in Derry.

“It is deplorable that this has happened to a man of the utmost civility and kindness.

“The whole community is outraged and offended that he could be the victim of such despicable actions.”
