Appeal on burglary

Detectives in Magherafelt are appealing for information following a burglary in the Bridge street area of Castledawson.

Sometime before Saturday, January 5, thieves entered the vacant property and stripped copper from the building as well as causing some internal damage as a result. Lead flashing from roof of the house and a neighbouring bar were also stolen. It is believed that entry was gained to the property through a rear upstairs bedroom window and that the stolen metal was taken out this way and into the car park of the bar.

This area is adjacent to Main Street, Castledawson and is well lit and quite public, so police are appealing to anyone who noticed any unusual activity in the area to contact them at Magherafelt CID.
