Police in Foyle are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a hit and run collision close to the entrance of Fergleen Park in the Shantallow area around 10pm on February 9.

A man was struck by a car, believed to be a black Vauxhall Corsa, which failed to remain at the scene. The victim was treated in hospital for serious but non life threatening injuries.

It is understood a large crowd was in the area at that time and police are keen to hear from anyone who could identify the offending vehicle or provide any information about the incident.

The telephone number to ring is 0845 600 8000. Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
