Western Trust chief Elaine Way has hailed staff for achieving impressive mid-term targets with 99 per cent of breast cancer referrals seen within a fortnight and 99.8 per cent of cancer patients starting treatment within 31 days of a decision to treat being taken.
From April to September, 100 per cent of Learning disability discharges took place within seven days and 91 per cent of complex discharges from an acute hospital taking place within 48 hours. Ninety-nine per cent of people with continuing care needs also received their main components of care within eight weeks.
At the end of September no patient waited longer than nine weeks to access child and adolescent mental health services.
Ms Way said: “This performance report reflects an excellent position regarding the delivery of core activity across all specialities and indeed a significant improvement compared to the Trust’s position at the same time last year.”
