Organisers of the Walled City Music Festival are hoping their ‘Sound of Sport’ programme will be a smash hit.

It involves a unique piece of music involving table tennis players. Aimed at families, sports and music lovers this free, fun afternoon runs from 12pm until 4.15pm at the Magee Sports Centre and will include table-tennis, karate, archery and art workshops.

Local players from Foyle Table Tennis Club, led by Danny Carlin will be offering visitors taster sessions.

Walled City Music festival runs from Friday, July 18 until Saturday, July 26. The programme includes classical favourites, film and visual art collaborations, and premieres of new works. All will be performed by a host of world-class musicians, including the Coull String Quartet, Trio Festivale, oboist Nicholas Daniel, violinist Dmitri Sitkovetsky and former Kronos Quartet cellist Jeff Zeigler.
