A new Strathfoyle Community Newsletter (Summer 2014) has been launched thanks to the Housing Executive’s Shared Community Programme 2013/2014.

Key highlights include this year’s annual community festival organised by the Strathfoyle Community Association (SCA) which will take place from July 21 to 27.

There are also a number of positive outdoor pursuits organised by the Enagh Youth Forum (EYF) through its ‘Breakout Project,’ which will include Kayaking, Rock Climbing, Horse Riding and much more.

Meanwhile, the newsletter also includes a full timetable of new and exciting courses organised by the Strathfoyle Women’s Activity Group which will commence in September.

Alex Duffy chairperson of SCA said: “This year’s annual community festival promises to be bigger and better, with loads on offer; watch out for The Clameens, who will play on Friday, July 25, at Strathfoyle Youth Centre.

“And on Sunday, July 27, real helicopters will be landing on the local football pitch with a display also by the North West Model Aircraft Club.’”

Ann Gormley, representing Enagh Youth Forum, said: “There is a lot do this summer, if you are aged 10-25 why not get involved in our youth summer scheme and take part in many outdoor activities and courses - if interested get in touch with EYF on: 71860377 or find us on Facebook.”

Eddie Breslin, Community Cohesion Officer with the Housing Executive said: “The NIHE are pleased to support this initiative and believe that this newsletter strongly highlights the good work that is being carried out in the local community as well as informing residents of up coming activities and events which they will hopefully come out and take part in over the coming months.”
