Following a spate of burglaries in the Creggan, police are advising residents to secure their homes at all times.
Some incidents over the past week have been at houses where doors were left unlocked at night or while the houses were unoccupied. In some cases, keys were left in the doors.
Police say these ‘walk-in’ burglaries can be prevented by ensuring doors and windows are closed and locked.
Information on the incidents can be given by contacting the 101 non-emergency number and asking for the City West Neighbourhood Policing Team at Strand Road.
