Knife point robbery

Detectives in Foyle have appealed for information following reports of a robbery at knife point in a shop at Academy Road on Sunday.

Shortly before 8.30pm, it was reported that a man with his face covered up entered a shop in the area and it was suspected that he was armed with a knife.

It is believed the man threatened a member of staff and made off with a sum of money. The male made off down the Academy Road area. It is not believed that the member of staff was injured during the incident.

A PSNI spokesman said enquiries are continuing and anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has any information to contact them at Strand Road CID on 0845 600 8000.
