Headmistress retires after 40 years

Waiting for Video...

June 21 will be a bittersweet day for the staff at Oakgrove Primary School.

On that day the school will throw open it’s doors for the traditional Mid-Summer Ball, but the event will also mark the last official engagement for the school principal, Dr Anne Murray, who is retiring.

Dr Murray came to the school 23 years ago as a founder member of the teaching staff to help set it up and to oversee it’s growth.

At the end of the summer term she will bid farewell to colleagues, pupils and parents, and embark on the next chapter of her life.

To read about what Anne plans to do with her retirement time get The Londonderry Sentinel tomorrow, Wednesday.
