Police in G District have confirmed the Dungiven man reported missing following a road traffic collision near Tobermore early on Monday (July 7) has been in contact with his family.
Connor O’Kane, who is aged 22, was the driver of a car that was involved in a collision on the Draperstown Road shortly after 1am.
His car had sustained serious frontal damage, but he was not there when police arrived.
A passenger in the vehicle, who had sustained a head injury, did not know of his whereabouts, when quizzed by officers in the wake of the accident.
A missing person alert was issued by the PSNI on Monday due to the O’Kane family’s growing concerns.
However, a PSNI spokesman confirmed on Tuesday that Mr O’Kane has since been in touch with his family.
