130 burglaries (more than one a day) in summer crime wave

ONE hundred and thirty burglaries took place in Londonderry during a summer crime wave though conviction data is not yet available.

Justice Minister David Ford said 84 homes and 46 buildings other than homes were burgled; a rate of more than one a day.

The burglaries peaked in August when 32 homes were targeted.
