The occupants of a house in the Culmore Road area were badly shaken after being greeted by knife-wielding strangers when they arrived home on Thursday.

They weren’t injured although the criminals did make off with a set of car keys.

Shortly before 8.30pm the occupants of the house returned home to find two unknown males in it. One of the males had a knife. When the occupants challenged the intruders they left the property. They stole a set of car keys.

The occupants of the house were not injured, however they were left very badly shaken.

Detective Constable Kavanagh would appeal to anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area to contact Detectives at Strand Road on the non-emergency number 101. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
