Forum buoyed by life-savers

A LONDONDERRY youth forum has welcomed funding for new life buoys at a local lake.

Enagh Youth Forum said it was the responsibility of everyone in the community to look after the life saving equipment at Enagh Lough.

In a statement the group said: “As a local youth group which utilises the Lough for kayaking we are very grateful to RAPID for securing these buoys.”

The Forum officially adopted the Lough last year through the Loughs Agency’s ‘Adopt a stream’ programme.

“Many of our volunteers continue to clean up Enagh Lough on a regular basis and use the Lough for various projects locally

“In fact a group of young people are currently making a DVD production called the ‘Mysteries of Enagh Lough’ through Ambient Light Productions and the Enagh Young Roots project is also educating young people on the history and archaeology of Enagh Lough,” the group said.
