A BALLROOM blitz has raised £330 for the charity group Destined, which empowers people with learning difficulties.

The idea to hold the dance event came about after a friend of Destined, Martin O’Kane, represented the organisation at the recent Lilywhites Dance Strictly charity event at Craigbane GAC.

Having enjoyed the event, it was decided to bring the dance sensation to the rest of the Destined regulars, and Martin and a few of his fellow dancers braved the snowy weather to visit the Destined group in Feeny, where they put on a special performance for the members. “Members from the Destined Centre in Londonderry and Feeny attended and a great night was had by all,” said Charlene Keenan, manager of Destined Feeny.

Paying tribute to Mr O’Kane for his support, she said: “I’d like to say a special word of thanks to Martin O‘Kane for choosing Destined as his charity and his continuous support since. Martin made us all extremely proud on the night winning the judges vote.”
