The walk took place on Saturday, May 21.

Ann and the Cumber Upper, Lower Learmount and Banagher group of churches organised the event in which women donned their wedding dresses, while the men wore their hats and tails to pound the roads around the village.

“I really enjoyed the event and I was delighted that so many took part and raised lots of money in sponsorship,” said Ann.

“On behalf of the Cumber Upper, Lower Learmount and Banagher group of churches I would like to thank the local people, those who travelled to be with us and our friends and families who together raised such a fantastic amount. I also wish to thank all of the many businesses in the Claudy area who sponsored the event and who went above and beyond in providing the goods for the Barbecue and refreshments for the walkers.

“Alzheimer’s Society is a cause close to all our hearts.

“I am very proud that the fundraising efforts of the people of Claudy will help make a real difference,” said Ann.
