Eamonn O’Kane has been offered the chance to fight in a world title eliminator bout.

The Banagher man is now effectively just one win away from a shot at the coveted IBF world middleweight belt, currently held by David Lemieux.

The local man will face off against Bahamanian boxer Tureano Johnson, whose only loss in 14 professional fights came at the hands of American Curtis Stevens.

The IBF have sent O’Kane a letter offering him the chance to fight Tuereano Johnson (18-1-1) for the right to become mandatory challenger for the middleweight version of their World strap.

The former Commonwealth Gold Medallist confirmed, via Twitter, that he will face the man from the Bahamas for the right to fight for the IBF world title.
