Outer West, which stretches from Rosemount to Hazelbank and Ballymagroarty, also received only £70.52 per person last year.

Strabane was also allocated less than the overall North West Development Office (NWDO) average of £159.60 per person, receving just £105.72).

Although, Limavady (£196.92 per person) and Waterside - covering Caw, Irish Street, Tullyally, Currynierin and Top of the Hill - (£171.22 per person) also got a better than average allocation.

Mr McCausland revealed the expenditure in response to an Assembly Question from SDLP MLA Colum Eastwood who asked him to detail the level of funding allocated to each Neighbourhood Renewal area in the 2011/12 financial year.
