Daniel’s B&B roadshow proving a major hit

Almost 200,000 people made a date with Daniel O’Donnell on Monday night as a peak audience of 197,000 viewers in Northern Ireland tuned in to UTV to catch the Irish singing sensation and his wife Majella continue on their B&B Road Trip.

The ratings made ‘Daniel and Majella’s B&B Road Trip’ the most watched programme in Northern Ireland in its time slot and claimed a third of the viewing audience here.

The second instalment of the series also pipped BBC’s EastEnders to the post to take the top spot, with EastEnders drawing a peak audience of 191,000 viewers.

The six part series has proved not only a huge hit with viewers on UTV but also online with B&B owners such as Anne Sheerin from Roscommon and Josephine Finnegan from Galway becoming internet sensations for their witty one-liners and clear love of Daniel.

Speaking about their B&B hosts throughout the series, Daniel said: “As well as it being a business for them, I think their heart and soul is in it. “They’re really passionate and they want to make the stay for those people that are there, as good as it can be. For me, who would travel outside Ireland a lot, that’s a lovely thing. I certainly would have no qualms about recommending them. The enthusiasm and the interest they have in what they do is terrific.”

With plenty of colourful characters to come and more adventures in store for the couple, Daniel and Majella’s B&B Road Trip continues next Monday, November 9 at 8pm on UTV.
