Cattle rustling in Londonderry has resulted in over 400 animals disappearing over the past two years.

In the financial year 2012/13 242 cattle were reported missing or stolen, whilst the figure for 2013/14 up to mid-March was 159. Farms Minister Michelle O’Neill said the data were taken from her Department’s Animal and Public Health Information System (APHIS). A breakdown of missing versus stolen cattle wasn’t given.
