A former undertaker who appeared before Londonderry Magistrates Court on a drink driving charge, has been banned from driving for a year and fined £125.
Thomas Wilson (49), of Cloverhill Avenue, Drumahoe, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol on March 16.
The Court heard police were operating a vehicle checkpoint on Queen’s Quay and the almost collided with the car in front of him.
Police noticed that his eyes were glazed, he was struggling to stand still and he failed a preliminary breath test.
An evidential sample gave a reading of 58mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath.
