The boss of the new Londonderry and Strabane Council wants interested citizens to join several working groups tasked with mapping out the future development of health and well-being, education, enterprise and regeneration in the city and its hinterlands.

John Kelpie said the deadline for joining any of the eight community planning working groups is May 8.

They are specifically: Community Development; Early Intervention; Health and Wellbeing; Education and Skills; Entrepreneurship and Enterprise; Tourism Arts and Culture; Physical Regeneration; Infrastructure and Transport.

“The purpose of Community Planning is to move our entire region forward and ensure we are utilising and maximising all of our assets and resources in line with the aspirations of our stakeholders. I would encourage as many of our residents, businesses and communities to join in on this process and have their say on what the new Derry City and Strabane District Council will look like. If you have an interest or area of expertise I would encourage you to get in contact with us and find out more,” he said.
