Clooney event for tourist digs

A DROP-IN session in the Clooney Hall centre will take place on Wednesday (March 20) to let people know how to register their property with the Northern Ireland Tourist Board (NITB) as self-catering digs in order to meet increased accommodation demand in 2013.

The session on self-catering certification is being organised by Derry City Council, Derry Visitor and Convention Bureau (DVCB) and NITB. It will run between 4pm and 8pm.

Another session will take place on Saturday, March 23 at the Playhouse Theatre between 11am and 3pm.

A spokesperson for Derry City Council said: “This could be an opportunity to use vacant furnished residential property to meet increased demand for accommodation during 2013.

“Self-catering accommodation requires NITB certification and there will be an opportunity to complete an application form at the sessions if your property is ready.”

The drop-in sessions are free to attend and you do not have to book in advance. For any further information please contact Elizabeth Cunningham, Derry City Council: 028 71365151 (x 6917) Elizabeth.Cunningham@derrycity.gov.uk
