The City of Londonderry Grand Orange Lodge held their installation of officers at Newbuildings Community Centre on Saturday.
The meeting was hosted by No 1 District Loyal Orange Lodge.
The City Grand Master, James Hetherington, welcomed everyone to the meeting and warmly welcomed the Brethren who travelled from Coleraine and County Tyrone.
The Grand master of Ireland, Edward Stevenson, was also in attendance and carried out the formal installation of officers.
Deputy City Grand Master, Bro Maurice Devenney, asked the Rt Wor Bro Stevenson to present a new chain of office to Rt Wor Bro James Hetherington, for future use by City Grand Masters in the City Grand Lodge and said this was a fitting end to the UK City of Culture and would serve to remind everyone of the UK City of Culture and the part the City Grand Lodge played throughout the year.
On a sad note, the City Grand Master made reference to the passing of two well-known Brethren, namely Bro Sam Sheppard and Bro Walter Mc Laughlin. He said both men had served the City Grand Lodge well during their years within the organisation.
At this point in the meeting the Grand Master of Ireland, Bro Stevenson, took the chair and presided over the Installation of officers.
Taking the chair, he said the City Grand members had to be congratulated on the way they promoted the City Grand Lodge in the City of Londonderry.

The brethren where then entertain to tea, hosted by No 1 District Lodge and Newbuildings Victoria Lodge LOL 1087.
Bro Colin Campbell Lodge Secretary, thanked everyone for coming to Newbuildings and said it had been a pleasure to supply the refreshments after for the meeting and at the reception.
