Retail giant creating over 80 new jobs in Londonderry

Upwards of 80 new jobs are being created at the former B&Q store in Londonderry

Home, garden and leisure retailer, The Range is behind the Buncrana Road project.

It is hoped the new store will be opened some time this year with further details on the plans expected to be announced shortly.

Welcoming the employment fillip, SDLP Foyle Assembly candidate Mark H Durkan said: “This is a much-needed and welcome boost for our local economy.”

The company’s 130 stores throughout the UK stock over 16,000 products across a range of furniture, lighting, bedding, furnishings, electrical goods, DIY and art supply goods, as well as gardening and pet equipment, toys and clothing.

In October 2016, The Range announced the opening of its first outlet in the province at another former B&Q site, in Ballymena.
