Translink knocked back on Culmore Road bus service

TRANSLINK has applied to the Department of the Environment (DoE) several times for a licence to run buses up the Culmore Road but thusfar has been unsuccesful.

Roads Minister Danny Kennedy stated: “This is an operational matter for Translink. However Translink has advised me that they have made several applications to DoE Licensing Division for a Road Service Licence to operate a bus service to Culmore Point.

“These applications have been unsuccessful.

“Currently the Lough Swilly Bus Company operates a service part-funded from my Department’s Rural Transport Fund along this route.”
