8 jobs go as NW firm closes

LONDONDERRY engineering firm Forth and Foyle will cease trading by the end of the month with the loss of eight jobs in the city.

A further 14 jobs are to go in Larne and Scotland.

Jobs Minister Arlene Foster said the fitting and welding firm advised Invest NI of their intention to cease trading at the end of October with the unfortunate loss of 22 jobs.

“Ten of the employees have been working on a rolling service contract at Ballylumford Power station with a further eight operating out of the company’s office in Londonderry,” she stated.

“In addition four people operating from the company’s Grangemouth office in Scotland will also be affected. Discussions are ongoing between Invest NI and the company,” she added.

Forth & Foyle is a specialist company providing Mechanical Fitting and Coded Welding services to it’s client base since 1975.
