1,703 new city houses added to rates list

LESS than two thousand new houses were added to the capital valuation list in Londonderry over the past five years, Finance Minister Sammy Wilson has stated.

The number of new houses added peaked in 2010/11, before falling back to 391 during the last financial year and further to 116 between April 2012 and December 2012.

Outlining the figures for “the number of new houses added to the Capital Valuation List in each of the last 5 years” Mr Wilson advised there were 1703 in additions Londonderry.

Londonderry had the fewest additions in the last eight months of 2012 of any area outside East Belfast, which posted just 109 new houses.
