Strabane has been selected as one of seven locations in Northern Ireland for participation in a new business improvement pilot.
Other Business Improvement Districts (BID) include Enniskillen, Newry, Ballymena and three areas in Belfast (Lisburn Road, City Centre and Cathedral Quarter).
Councillor Ruairí McHugh, Chairman of Strabane District Council said: “Council is delighted to be selected as one of the first BID pilots in the North.
“This is a significant opportunity for Strabane to build on and bring added value to public sector investment in the town.
“BIDs are driven by business for business and have demonstrated success elsewhere in increasing footfall and spend, reducing costs to businesses, attracting new investment and improving competitiveness with other locations.”
