Arts conference to deal with conflict

THIS weekend a conference will examine how the arts challenge people in Londonderry and other conflict amd post-conflict cities around the world.

Co-founder of the Lone Twin theatre company Gregg Whelan is amongst the guests the International Culture Arts Network (ICAN) have invited to the event over Friday, March 1 and Saturday, March 2.

“What an amazing opportunity! We are delighted to have Gregg on board to host conference workshops and talk about his work” Elaine Forde, ICAN Co-ordinator said.

“Lone Twin was chosen as a voice that represents a performance company that prides itself on performance and projects in all kinds of forms and spaces.

“Their public projects aim to make a unique, fugitive event shaped by the lives of everyone involved,” she added.

To attend the Challenging Place Conference on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 March at the Playhouse or for more information contact Elaine Forde on 0044 (0)28 71268 027 or email elaine@derryplayhouse.co.uk
