Tree of Remembrance in Magherafelt

A SPECIAL Christmas tree will be erected in Magherafelt this year to remember loved ones who have passed away.

Organised by Active Life and suicide awareness group Sam88, individuals, families and friends can post messages to lost loved ones via special baubles which will be placed on the tree.

The sermon of light will take place in Meadowbank on Tuesday, December 11th at 7.30pm and will include lighting candles in memory of those who can’t be with their loved ones this Christmas.

Ashley Henry, one of the organisers of the event said: “Christmas is an incredibly difficult time of the year for those who have lost family and friends.”

“We have organised the event to give those a chance to send a special Christmas message to their loved ones a chance to come along and post a special message or take part in the sermon of lights.”

If you would like more information on the event, you can contact the Active Life and Sam88 offices on 028 7963 4441, or call into the office at 78 Rainey Street, Magherafelt.
