More pain for Buster’s owners
INCONSOLABLE. . . . Limavady mum Julie Campbell tries to console her 10 years-old son Logan, after their pet dog 'Buster' was found hanged to a pole in the family's back garden. 1910JM33
THE Limavady family whose pet was hung by its own lead outside her house has fallen victim to a fireworks attack on their home, the Sentinel can exclusively reveal.
A distraught Julie Campbell was in the process of packing her bags and leaving at the time of going to press last night.
Ms Campbell says there has been ongoing anti-social behaviour in the Drumachose Park area.
Last week, the family found themselves thrust into the media spotlight when sadists strangled their pet dog Buster with its own lead and tied it to a pole in her back garden.
This was the first sight to greet the young family as they opened their curtains the morning after the gruesome attack on the young dog.
On Monday, fireworks were shot at the front door of the home she shares with her three children.
The family’s wheelie bins were also recently stolen, placed against the door of a neighbouring pensioner and fireworks were then set alight on top of the bins.
Speaking to the Sentinel last night, the terrified young mother said: “They were shooting fireworks at the house at around half eleven.
“This is on top of what happened to the dog, as well as the cars, the wheelie bins and the gates.
“We’re packing right now, as we speak. I still don’t know where we are going yet but we are packing. As soon as we get a house we are going. We could be away by tomorrow.
“There has always been anti-social behaviour in the area, but it has been a lot worse since the summer and with the fireworks coming up to Halloween.
“It is really dangerous. There was a lot of smoke in the hall. We could’ve been killed in our beds.”
A spokesperson for the PSNI said: “Detectives in Limavady have charged a 16 year old male with throwing a firework, intimidation and attempted criminal damage.
“He is due to appear at Londonderry Juvenile Court on Tuesday, November 13. An 18 year old male has been charged with threats to kill and intimidation. He is due to appear at Limavady Magistrates Court on Wednesday, November 14.”
