WORK at a £24 million dual carriageway between Maydown and City of Derry Airport will begin later today.
Known as the A2, the stretch of road will take 18 months to complete.
The aim of the expansive project is to reduce travelling times between Londonderry and Limavady.
Minister for Regional Development, Conor Murphy, said the road would achieve the objective of reducing journey times and assist in the economic development of the region.
Mr Murphy will ceremonially launch the project later this morning.
